What Makes a Great Journey? Part 2: The Right Place to Stay

One of the most important conversations I have with travelers isn't about star ratings or room categories.

It's about what matters most to them... and just as importantly, what doesn't.

Online descriptions and reviews can be helpful, but they only tell part of the story. Hotels change ownership. Ships are updated. Resorts renovate. Neighborhoods evolve. And sometimes what one traveler loved is exactly what another traveler would have been disappointed by.

That's where having a travel advisor can make a real difference. It's not about finding the best hotel or resort. It's about finding the one that's right for you.

Sometimes it's a shorter walk to the beach. Sometimes it's a quieter location. Sometimes it's choosing a balcony because you'll spend every evening watching the sunset. Those little details don't always stand out online, but they can completely change how a trip feels.

Some travelers are perfectly happy with a guaranteed interior cabin because they only use it to shower and sleep. Others know a balcony is part of the experience and wouldn't travel without one.

Some want to step out their door and be in the heart of a city. Others would rather wake up to the sound of the ocean. Some are looking for a lively resort with plenty to do, while others just want a quiet place to relax.

None of those choices are right or wrong.

They're simply different ways to experience a destination.

Because at the end of the day, where you stay isn't just where you sleep.

It's part of the experience.

When you picture your perfect getaway, what's the one thing your accommodations absolutely have to have?
